POSITION SUMMARY

The Cage Cashier performs all monetary transactions presented, adhering to all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations. Safeguards company assets and prepares all necessary internal paperwork. Responsible to provide a level of service which is gracious, kind, and warm creating an exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm with our guests. Comply and follow with strict adherence to Internal Control Policies and Procedures, state regulations, Bank Securities Act, Title 31 Rules and Regulations, and the company’s Responsible Gaming Plan.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this class and are not all- inclusive:

  • Responsible for performing verifications on loose and bundled money, coin transactions and check cashing
  • Processes jackpots check cashing, redeems valid gaming vouchers received from patrons for an equivalent amount of cash and redeems chips for cash. Other transaction types may occur
  • Safeguards company assets and adhere to all cage policies and procedures to include Responsible Gaming and Title 31
  • Maintains and is held accountable for all funds entrusted to him/her on an assigned shift
  • Responsible for creating teamwork by helping co-workers with essential function
  • Required to balance all money transactions and paperwork.
  • Required to meet all attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to include strict adherence to attendance and appearance guidelines as well as confidentially regarding player information
  • Required to handle guest financial transactions
  • Required to be alert for fraud, forged/counterfeit currency and/or vouchers or chips
  • Balances all funds under his/her responsibility and prepare reconciliation reports accordingly
  • Ensures at all times that the cash inventory is well secure
  • Issues free slot play, up to authorized limit, and food coupons to guests
  • Responsible for conducting themselves in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous, and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values
  • Other duties as assigned

Must have ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of Team Members, guests, and outside contacts
  • Required to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Required to move around all work areas effectively and efficiently
  • Required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Required to work for extended time seated as well as on your feet

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED. Banking and guest service experience preferred. Must have a friendly demeanor and be able to communicate well with the public. Must be able to work in an intense and fast paced environment where a high degree of concentration is necessary to perform required job duties. Must demonstrate positive/enthusiastic approach to all assignments. Attendance and punctuality are an essential function of the position. Must be clean, well-groomed, and have a professional appearance. Must have an optimistic outlook, proven track record of leading, inspiring, success in service excellence, attention to quality details, great communication skills and know how to deliver excitement.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino
  • Obtain required license(s)
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Responsible for taking the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco
  • Knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department
  • Knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls
  • Responsible for taking the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management
  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of
