JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for leading facilities employees in work activities including repairs, preventative maintenance, and in-house projects for facility equipment and structures including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and other maintenance work. The supervisor may also be asked to oversee the environmental services staff on duty. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Responds to requests from various departments. 

-Plans and schedules maintenance work, including coordinating schedules with other departments, and assigning daily tasks to maintenance personnel. 

-Orders materials for projects. 

-Maintains the spare parts inventory. 

-Manages contractor personnel when utilized. 

-Manages routine documentation for personnel, equipment and work orders. 

-Possesses a thorough knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures, safety requirements and applicable regulations (OSHA, NEC, construction codes, etc.) 

-Will oversee and perform maintenance and repairs on table games equipment. 

-Will be asked to oversee the environmental services staff on duty as assigned. 

-Must be available to work long hours and varied shifts as business requires, including weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

High School Diploma or Equivalent required, Associates Degree or Technical School Diploma preferred.  Must have 3 years’ experience in a buildings/industrial maintenance department.  In addition, must have experience as a supervisor or lead craftsman with a buildings or industrial maintenance department.   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal departments and outside vendors. 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to apply concepts of geometry. 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. 

Must possess basic computer skills and have experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).     

 

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES 

Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Indiana Gaming Commission.   

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsible for assigning work based on the skills and abilities of the hourly maintenance employees.  Responsible for scheduling.  Participates in the hiring process.  Makes recommendations for disciplinary action if necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  The noise level can be loud.  The employee will be exposed to cigarette smoke when working in the smoking patio.  The employee will frequently work outside.  The employee will frequently work near moving mechanical parts.  The employee will work in high, precarious places.  The employee may be exposed to fumes or chemicals.  There is a risk of electrical shock associated with this job.
