JOB SUMMARY
The Security & Facility Shift Manager oversees and directs security and EVS operations and personnel during assigned shift to ensure the safety of guests, team members, and company assets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with the hiring, training, development and efficient management of Security and EVS staff
- Oversee payroll and scheduling of Security and EVS team members
- Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments as well as trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff
- Monitors the activities of security personnel to ensure compliance with department and property policies and procedures
- Supervises programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries
- Oversees the safety and security of employees and customers by monitoring, observing, reporting, and taking appropriate action when necessary
- Utilizes appropriate telephone and radio protocol to maintain communication as a central point of contact for security-related incidents and emergencies
- Conducts routine inspections and audits of the gaming floor, parking lots, and other areas to assess compliance with security protocols
- Investigates and responds to escalated security incidents, emergencies, and customer complaints that cannot be resolved by security officers and supervisors
- Documents all security-related incidents, observations, and activities by writing accurate and thorough incident reports
- Maintains confidential treatment of all relevant information and follows up on shift reports as needed
- Coordinates with internal and external emergency services to provide immediate assistance in response to a wide variety of threats involving the property, employee/guest lives, or assets
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Effective management and leadership skills in security operational effectiveness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills
- Thorough knowledge of Emergency Response and Disaster Plans, security systems and software, and relevant laws and regulations
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure while making sound decisions quickly
- Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two-year degree in related field preferred
- Three to five years related experience in security operations
- Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable
- May be required to hold a valid driver’s license
