JOB SUMMARY

The Food Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets guests on arrival and regards on departure in a warm and inviting manner
  • Informs special menu items to customers and takes orders according to customer specifications, demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge
  • Promotes brands and products to increase sales and answers questions regarding the menu
  • Utilizes point of sale equipment to enter orders for kitchen personnel
  • Cleans and sanitizes food service equipment used to prepare and serve menu items
  • Delivers food and drinks orders to guests and ensures satisfaction through food quality checks
  • Responds to guest needs and complaints by providing appropriate solutions
  • Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of daily menus and prices
  • Interacts with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty
  • Replenishes necessary supplies, such as salt/pepper shakers, condiments, etc.
  • Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of workstation
  • Communicates to management in a timely fashion any guest compliments or complaints
  • Performs general upkeep and cleaning duties, such as mopping floors, wiping countertops, cleaning food prep areas, rolling silverware, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and ability to operate point-of-sale systems
  • Knowledge of wines, alcohol, and food
  • Thorough knowledge of menu items

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months prior work experience preferred
