JOB SUMMARY
The Dual Rate Housekeeping Supervisor will support the Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor in all capacities to ensure effective and efficient operations of the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions. Responsible to coordinate the hotel housekeeping team, inspect rooms and public areas, ensure adherence to SOP’s, clean rooms and complete laundry. Ensure team member safety and proper ergonomic practices, assist with training Room Attendants and Laundry Attendants, and work to achieve hotel objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operations of housekeeping & laundry so all rooms are cleaned and inspected prior to guest check-in.
- Effectively communicates with guests, team members and other departments.
- Plan, assign and coordinate room boards and activities for room attendants.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping staffing needs based on business volume and workload.
- Lead pre-shift team member meetings.
- Manage Lost-and-Found items, inquiries, returns and shipping & billing process.
- Maintain inventories of amenities, cleaning supplies & linen stock to ensure adequate stock quantities and reorders are placed in a timely manner.
- Monitor and motivate the housekeeping & laundry team to ensure high levels of productivity.
- Assists with team member recruitment, hiring, and training qualified housekeeping team members.
- Recommend counseling and potential disciplinary action for housekeeping team members.
- Thoroughly clean and replenish supplies hotel rooms and bathrooms according to department procedures
- Sort, launder and fold linens according to department procedures
- Stock housekeeping and laundry carts with supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- General computer skills, including Email and Microsoft Office
- General PMS familiarity
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred. Must be able to multi-task and take direction.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Able to stand for long periods of time and able to walk long distances (within building)
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, carrying and climbing
- Able to occasionally exert 50 pounds of force
- Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Required to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required
