JOB SUMMARY
The Cage Shift Manager is responsible for leading and supervising all cage operations during an assigned shift to ensure the secure and accurate handling of cash and gaming transactions. This salaried role involves overseeing a team of cage cashiers, ensuring compliance with internal policies and state gaming regulations, and working collaboratively with departments such as surveillance and security. The Cage Shift Manager plays a key role in maintaining operational integrity, providing outstanding guest service, and supporting a safe and efficient working environment. Strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to regulatory compliance are essential for success in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise Cage Operations: Lead and manage all cage operations during the assigned shift, ensuring all functions are performed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.

Cash and Transaction Management: Oversee the handling and flow of cash, chips, and currency transactions, including payouts, exchanges, and balancing procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Deliver Guest Service Excellence: Provide prompt, courteous, and professional assistance to guests, addressing inquiries and resolving concerns to enhance the guest experience.

Team Leadership: Direct daily tasks and activities of cage cashiers, including scheduling, task assignments, coaching, performance monitoring, and on-the-job training.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all financial and operational procedures comply with internal controls, company policies, and applicable state gaming regulations.

Safety and Security Collaboration: Partner with surveillance and security teams to safeguard cash operations, investigate discrepancies, and prevent internal and external theft.

Maintain Accurate Records: Prepare and review shift reports, logs, and documentation of financial transactions, incidents, and variances as required.

Inventory Control: Track and reconcile all currency, chips, and related assets; identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure end-of-shift accuracy and accountability.

Issue Resolution: Respond to and resolve operational, staff, or guest-related issues, including emergencies, with professionalism and sound judgment.

Training and Development: Onboard and continuously train team members on proper procedures, customer service standards, compliance requirements, and security protocols.

Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and operational information and uphold the integrity of the cage operations.

Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management to support smooth and efficient cage operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college coursework in business, finance, or a related field is preferred and may enhance candidate qualifications. -
Gaming/Cage Experience:
A minimum of one to three years of experience in cage operations, cashiering, or a similar role within a Gaming environment is required. Strong familiarity with gaming floor operations and cage procedures is essential. -
Supervisory Experience:
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage, coach, and lead a team effectively in a high-volume, regulated environment. -
Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge:
Working knowledge of cash handling policies, Gaming internal controls, and applicable state gaming regulations is required. -
Technical Skills:
Must be proficient in using financial and transaction systems, along with basic computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and casino management software. -
Communication and Math Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with proficiency in basic mathematics and financial transaction accuracy. -
Licensing Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license in accordance with state regulations and company policies. - You must be over 21 years old to apply
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
