JOB SUMMARY
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services necessary for the gaming facility’s operations. This role ensures that purchasing activities align with company policies, budgetary constraints, and regulatory requirements. The Purchasing Manager develops procurement strategies, manages vendor relationships, and supports operational efficiency and cost savings while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and gaming regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and manage procurement strategies to support operational and financial goals.

Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor relationship management to ensure quality service and cost-effectiveness.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to ensure timely purchasing of supplies, equipment, and services.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and gaming commission requirements related to purchasing.

Conduct cost analyses and assist with budget forecasting to optimize spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Maintain and enforce internal purchasing controls, policies, and procedures.

Collaborate with departments to assess purchasing needs, priorities, and timelines.

Evaluate supplier performance and resolve issues related to deliveries, quality, or service.

Oversee purchase orders, invoices, and procurement documentation to ensure accuracy and proper recordkeeping.

Assist with capital expenditure planning and provide financial insights related to procurement expenses.

Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in purchasing activities.

Knowledge of procurement best practices, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within the gaming, hospitality, or entertainment industry.

Strong working knowledge of purchasing processes, contract negotiations, and vendor management.

Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

Regularly required to stand, speak, hear, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.

Occasionally required to sit.

Must have close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

When working in the office, the noise level is moderately quiet.

When working on the gaming floor, the noise level may be loud, and the employee may be exposed to cigarette smoke.
