JOB SUMMARY

Join the fun at Owensboro Racing & Gaming! We’re seeking enthusiastic and service-minded individuals to join our team as Gaming Attendants. In this role, you will be on the front lines of the gaming floor, ensuring an exciting, safe, and welcoming experience for all guests. From assisting players and monitoring machines to providing top-tier customer service and ensuring compliance with gaming regulations, you’ll play a key role in delivering a memorable entertainment experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following list is not exhaustive and may be expanded to include other duties as needed:

  • Provide friendly, professional, and prompt service to all guests on the gaming floor.

  • Monitor gaming machines for proper operation, safety, and compliance with regulations.

  • Assist guests with understanding game rules, payouts, and machine functions.

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the gaming floor layout and amenities to assist guests accurately.

  • Conduct visual inspections and basic maintenance of gaming equipment, reporting any malfunctions.

  • Handle collection and payout of winnings in compliance with internal policies and procedures.

  • Respond to guest inquiries, issues, or complaints professionally, escalating when necessary.

  • Monitor for suspicious behavior and immediately report any irregularities in accordance with gaming security protocols.

  • Enforce age-verification and all regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Engage with guests to create a positive, personalized experience; promote ongoing promotions and events.

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the gaming floor at all times.

  • Complete shift paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.

  • Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude throughout all shifts.

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Customer Service Excellence: Ability to provide exceptional, friendly, and professional service to guests in a fast-paced environment.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests, team members, and supervisors.

  • Attention to Detail: Capable of monitoring gaming machines and guest activity to ensure compliance with regulations and identify issues quickly.

  • Problem Solving: Ability to respond to guest concerns or equipment malfunctions calmly and efficiently, escalating issues when necessary.

  • Basic Math Proficiency: Comfortable handling payouts and performing simple arithmetic for accuracy in money-handling tasks.

  • Adaptability: Flexible and willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

  • Team-Oriented: Willingness to collaborate and contribute to a positive team environment.

  • Professionalism: Maintains a neat appearance and demonstrates a professional demeanor at all times.

  • Regulatory Awareness: Ability to learn and comply with all applicable gaming laws, safety protocols, and internal policies.

  • Physical Stamina: Able to stand, walk, and be on feet for extended periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of gaming machine functions and ability to identify and report operational issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

  • Previous experience in a customer service or gaming environment is preferred.

  • Familiarity with gaming rules, operations, and procedures is a plus.

  • Must possess basic math and money-handling skills.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license in accordance with state regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout an entire shift on the gaming floor.

  • Requires the ability to bend, stoop, lift, and reach as needed to assist guests, maintain machines, and ensure a clean and safe environment.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion.

  • Ability to operate gaming-related equipment and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.

  • Must be able to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment with flashing lights and continuous activity.

  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a busy, dynamic setting.

  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while interacting with guests and coworkers.

  • Must be flexible and willing to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the operational needs of the facility.

  • May be exposed to secondhand smoke in designated areas in accordance with local laws and company policies.
