JOB SUMMARY
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the successful operation of all Food & Beverage department. This position is responsible for directing the work of any leads and hourly staff including bartenders and cooks. Monitors food and bar quality, presentation and service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in developing accurate long and short range financial objectives relating to food and beverage sales.
- Reviews staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment. Delegates authority and assigns responsibilities.
- Implements companywide sales promotions programs and develops and implements local sales promotions in bar areas and food outlets in accordance with Alcohol Beverage Control laws and regulations.
- Maintains effective cost and controls in the food & beverage department including accurate par levels and inventory counts.
- Reviews beverage activities and promotional status with the Food and Beverage Leadership.
- Conducts interviews, selection and hiring of F&B team members, delegates and assigns duties, maintains attendance and performance trackers, completes evaluations and develops team members, and determines terminations as needed.
- Maintains vendor relationships according to Alcohol Beverage Control laws and regulations.
- Promotes outstanding customer relations by resolving guest issues in a manner that reflects NRG standards.
- Meets with departmental managers and directors as necessary.
- Creates and maintains accurate menus and product availability.
- Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and guests. Supervises programs and processes to reduce and control loss of time due to injuries and to ensure correct interpretation of policies.
- Adheres to all sanitation and cleanliness standards set by the local and federal government.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Supervisory abilities demonstrated in the food & beverage outlets operational effectiveness.
- Expert in field and up-to-date with industry trends.
- Maintaining interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the F&B Department.
- Available to work when needed including weekends, holidays and evenings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Two to Five years of experience in bar/beverage operations, including management, hiring and inventory control.
- College degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Must be able to efficiently use Microsoft, Excel, POS and back office computer systems.
- Ability to obtain a valid Racing License and any applicable health certifications.
