Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.
JOB SUMMARY
The Money Room Supervisor has direct management responsibility for the Mutuel Department’s Money Room which provides a variety of professional banking and mutuel services to the Fair Grounds racing operations in a manner which meets and exceeds customer and company expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates all Money Room activities.
- Oversees, motivates and evaluates Money Room employees to achieve individual goals and collectively business unit goals.
- Creates and maintains a working environment conductive to positive morale, quality, creativity and teamwork.
- Advocates an operations structure that best serves customers by ensuring all general office systems, processes and controls are at peak efficiency.
- Controls Money Room main bank and monitors all cash flow and accompanying transactions impacting the bank.
- Ensures the correct impressed amounts of currency in main bank to maintain optimum levels for operations.
- Accounts for all division loads, operational banks, cashier monies, self-service monies, checks, vouchers, coupons, etc. and reconciles daily cash handling activities.
- Serves as a liaison in respect to manned and self-service totalizator terminals and systems to identify, examine and resolve issues.
- Performs all other duties, as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
: Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Racing License from the Louisiana Racing Commission.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Four year college degree preferred. Four years pari-mutuel industry experience with a preference for some supervisory experience. Ability to manage employees in a high volume environment. Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel, and CRM software. Excellent written and verbal communications skills with strong attention to detail. Able to coordinate and complete multiple tasks. Be a self-starter and work with minimum supervision. Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as required including nights, weekends and holidays.

Constant wrist motion, sit, hear and eye/hand coordination; Frequently speak, read, write, stand, walk, bend and stoop; Occasionally lift, carry, push and pull.
