Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.
JOB SUMMARY
The Program Runner plays a vital role in the daily distribution of racing programs and Brisnet reports across the facility. This position is responsible for receiving, verifying, organizing, and delivering these materials to designated areas, ensuring timely and accurate availability for both staff and sales locations. The role involves physical labor and requires attention to detail, coordination, and responsiveness
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accept daily shipments of Brisnets and live race programs from FedEx and Documart.
- Use a hand truck to transport heavy boxes delivered by the company courier.
- Unpack deliveries in the 2 West Atrium area.
- Count and verify the quantities of Brisnets and programs received against order documentation.
- Place verified materials on designated tables for Racing Office staff to collect.
- Deliver the remaining programs and Brisnets to multiple sales locations across the venue.
- Respond to requests from program sellers if their supply runs low or runs out.
- Retrieving additional items from available locations and delivering as needed.
- After racing concludes, collect all unsold programs and Brisnets.
- Discard materials unsold upon receiving approval from the supervisor.
- Assist in the distribution of advance race programs and Brisnets to appropriate locations.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
