We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Observes the running of each race at points designated by the Stewards
  • Reports observations to the Stewards by telephonic means or two-way radio.
  • Assists in taking entries, scratches, declarations, and subscriptions and any other duties that might be required to assist in the daily operations of the racing office.
  • Analyze live races as well as computer replays to make timely and appropriate decisions regarding placing and official order of finish.
  • Determine photos, and dead-heats after conferring with Stewards.

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to obtain a Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
