We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing a variety of code enforcement duties to support the Fair Grounds Nutrient Management Plan as it pertains to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report violations on hazardous conditions, safety and sanitation and health issues.
- Responds to complaints of rule violations and performs other enforcement duties as assigned.
- Enforce EPA rules as it pertains to the Fair Grounds Nutrient Management Plan
- Actively patrol the Fair Grounds property
- Report violations and recommend corrective action when necessary
- Issues warnings and citations as necessary to address rule issues or violations
- Respond to complaints of rule violations
- Applicants must have knowledge of how to work iPad technology
- Other duties will be assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Gaming and Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years of experience in Security preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common documentation. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies or members of staff. Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner. Ability to perform normal mathematical computations about the implementation of current duties. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables. Must be knowledgeable of Company practices and procedures. Ability to interact with others in a courteous and professional manner. Effective conflict resolution skills required. Ability to be creative in getting compliance from violators. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to withstand working outside in extreme weather conditions. Ability to follow directions carefully and to work independently
