JOB SUMMARY
Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures using carpenter's hand tools and power tools, and conforming to local building codes
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Constructs and repairs structural work in facility working from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions:
- Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
- Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions.
- Replace damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings. May build cabinets and other wooden equipment in carpenter shop, using woodworking machines, such as saws, shaper, and jointer
- Performs preventative maintenance and repair maintenance to the general structure aspects of all buildings.
- Performs other tasks that require ability for precise measurement, design and assembly of construction.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be 21 years old and able to obtain a Racing licence from the Racing Commission.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Eight years of experience in the building construction trades or in general building construction or maintenance, three years of which must have been at or above the foreman level and which must have included the supervision of journeyman tradesmen or skilled, advanced level general maintenance personnel.
