JOB SUMMARY
The Paddock Judge oversees the operations of the paddock and the racing office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works in conjunction with and under the direction of other race judges.
- Assists the Identifier in ensuring all horses are correctly scheduled and have the proper equipment.
- Performs racing office duties, such as over-the-counter and telephone entries.
- Supervises paddock gate personnel.
- Ensures that paddock operations adhere to the racing schedule.
- Works with other personnel regarding changes or delays that could affect the racing program.
- Reports any violations of noncompliance within the facility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations associated with horse racing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and vibration.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, push, pull, lift, reach, twist, and bend while enduring prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
- The employee may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke.
