JOB SUMMARY
The Surveillance Manager coordinates and manages the operation of the Surveillance department to promote a secure environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts processes for the hiring, training, development and efficient management of Surveillance staff.
- Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments as well as trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff.
- Maintains department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and oversees other administrative processes, such as staffing and payroll.
- Enforces all surveillance policies and procedures; suggests new and improved methods, procedures and technologies.
- Responsible for maintaining adherence to budget; prepares data for the department operating budgets and acts on budget variance items.
- Delegates duties and responsibilities to surveillance personnel based on operational needs to ensure adequate coverage.
- Determines surveillance equipment needs to sufficiently observe, report, and record procedural violations and activities that may be unusual, suspicious, or illegal.
- Ensures correct operation and maintenance of surveillance equipment and software systems, including CCTV cameras, and digital video recorders.
- Utilizes appropriate telephone and radio protocol to maintain communication as a central point of contact for security-related incidents and emergencies.
- Coordinates the response to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, directing surveillance operators and possibly security personnel to take appropriate actions and follow established protocols.
- Monitors all company assets as well as property Team Members and guests for procedural violations.
- Reviews and verifies all logs and reports of incidents involving cheating, theft, fraud, or other security breaches to the appropriate personnel.
- Adheres to all gaming policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines regarding surveillance operations to ensure confidentiality and ethical conduct.
- Maintains knowledge of gaming laws/racing regulations, and company policies to ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Acts as a liaison with external agencies and/or company leadership as needed or requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated management and leadership skills in surveillance operational effectiveness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and observational skills in analyzing video footage.
- Conflict resolution and mediation skills.
- Knowledge of gaming operations, rules, and regulations.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including knowledge of video surveillance software, database management, and basic networking concepts.
- Ability to multitask and respond to telephone and radio traffic.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years surveillance experience or related field required.
- Minimum of two (2) years in supervisory capacity/leadership role required.
- Vocational or technical certifications in related fields.
- Five years of progressive experience in surveillance, security, or related field.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

- The Team Member will be required to sit and remain stationary for extended periods of time.

- The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and customer volume.
