ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the safety and security of all guests, team members, and company assets during their assigned shift.
- Monitors the activities of all security team members during their assigned shift to ensure compliance with department and property policies and procedure.
- Serves as a leader for security team members while fostering teamwork, positive morale, motivation, and open communication.
- Acts as a role model and coaches while developing security team members using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations.
- Communicates all policy and procedure changes, special events, and other activities to security team members.
- Train, manage, and oversee shift team members’ duties, ensuring schedules are properly covered and duties enacted daily.
- Must have a complete understanding and operation of the KeyWatcher. Responsible for controlling access, entering / removing team members in to the KeyWatcher.
- Responsible for key control and inventory for all sensitive keys.
- Responds to activated alarms for emergency situations such as fire, floor / power outages, and door security concerns or breaches.
- Respond, evaluate, provide first aid, and notify emergency medical services to guest and team members that require in a medical crisis.
- Investigate incidents and/or guest complaints, compiling data for accurate reporting.
- Promotes and monitors the confidential treatment of all relevant information. Provides clear, concise incident reports, daily logs and documentation for shift activities and incidents. Investigates and follows up on all shift reports and activities.
- Provides support to management in the event of sensitive and/or dangerous situations involving termination, thefts, team member or guest issues.
- Must be able to identify operational and organizational opportunities and work with the security department upper management team to recommend, develop, and implement sound solutions.
- Assist the Sr. Director of Safety & Security in achieving and maintaining departmental goals.
- Supervise programs and processes to reduce and control loss time injuries.
- Proactively responsible for conducting emergency drills within the security department.
- Ensures all visitors, vendors and contractors are logged and accounted for while on property.
- Assists with interviewing and selection of security team members.
- Interact with local law enforcement agencies as required.
- Operate a company vehicle on-site and occasionally off-site.
- Attend all company required mandatory training classes when scheduled.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Management abilities demonstrated in managing security operational effectiveness.
- Maintain interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
- Adherence to Code of Conduct and all Calder Casino policies and procedures.
- Maintain and promote our business strategy of Clean, Safe, Compliant, Engagement, Service, and EBITDA.
- Maintain an open-door policy for Team Members to allow open communication.
- Exhibit advanced knowledge and understanding of the property’s Emergency Response and Disaster Plans.
- Exhibit advanced knowledge and understanding of the KeyWatcher system and software.
- Exhibit advanced knowledge and understanding of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and regulations as well as company internal controls, policies, and procedure.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the shift.
- Ability to deescalate conflict and provide conflict resolution.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4 years previous security, law enforcement, and/or casino/hotel security experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid FL Driver’s License.
- CPR / AED Certification.
- Ability to obtain a valid gaming license.
