ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Card Room Dual Supervisor is a Card Room Dealer with elevated responsibilities for covering the Card Room floor in the absence of the Card Room Supervisor or Manager. They are responsible for creating “Winning Experiences” for our guests in the card room as a Dealer and Floor person. They are entrusted to make decisions regarding hands, guest inquiries, dealer rotations, and upholding policies and regulations while acting as the Floor Person.
Dealer Functions:
- Deals cards to players and shuffles as appropriate according to established rules and regulations.
- Ensures that correct "rake" is taken from the designated players.
- Ensures that wagers are placed before cards are dealt.
- Monitors game and notifies supervisor of any disputes, problems, or concerns with either a patron or the progress of the game.
- Promotes positive Team Member and Guest relations at all times.
- Knowledgeable of marketing promotions and casino events.
- Responsible for the operation and conduct of the assigned game in accordance with SOPs, internal controls, and the rules and procedures of the cardroom.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate leaders of concerns and observations.
- Ensure prompt and discreet notification to leaders and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
- Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and guests.
- Assisting guest with seating and chip distribution.
- Responsible for keeping the cardroom clean, sanitized, and in order.
Floor Person Functions:
- Monitor staffing levels to maintain high levels of service to our guests.
- Reviews and monitors standards of operation and regulations.
- Knowledgeable of marketing promotions, casino events, and poker systems
- Ensure the safety and security of all guests and Team Members.
- Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Responsible for resolving any player dissatisfaction or guest service complaint in a professional manner when they are the Supervisor
- Safeguard casino assets.
- Promotes a culture of Team Member engagement according to Calder’s core values.
- Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication upward, downward, and laterally.
- Ensures standards of performance and regulations are followed by both Card Room Dealers and guests.
- Performs other duties as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of player banked card games.
- Maintaining a professional working relationship among all personnel and guests.
- Knowledge of state gaming laws and regulations.
- Adherence to Code of Conduct and all Calder Casino policies and procedures.
- Maintain and promote our business strategy of Clean, Safe, Compliant, Engagement, Service, and EBITDA.
- Maintain an open-door policy for Team Members to allow open communication.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the Cardroom.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school or GED equivalent or equivalent work experience
- One to two years of experience as a poker dealer, supervisor, or poker floor person
- Able to Obtain a valid gaming license.
