JOB SUMMARY

Oversees day-to-day functions of the terminal operations at their designated location to include taking inventory of parts, cycling spare parts, troubleshooting, initiating reports, maintaining hardware, and interacting with customers and management personnel. Functions as a terminal technician as needed. The Terminal Technician Supervisor will manage a team of employees and is responsible for scheduling, hiring, coaching, corrective counseling, performance appraisals and staff development. May be required to travel to multiple work sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day functions of the overall terminal operations at the location.
  • Schedules and directs the work assignments of all terminal technicians.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, coaching, corrective counseling, performance appraisals and development of qualified staff at the location as well as other assigned supervisory duties.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of inventories, cycling of spare parts and equipment, and ordering supplies.
  • Ensures that all hardware is properly maintained and in good working order which includes moving and relocating equipment as needed.
  • Maintains tote board operations.
  • Assists with testing and implementation of new hardware.
  • Required to interact with customers, racetrack management personnel and state officials in a professional manner to ensure excellent service is provided.
  • Manages costs at the site related to operations including minimizing overtime, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws and company policies.
  • Functions as a terminal technician on an as needed basis.
  • May be required to travel to multiple work sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years related experience of a terminal technician, as well as experience working with computers or within an electrical field.
  • Ability to lead and direct employees.
  • Must possess a good understanding of trouble shooting procedures and the ability to report and document problems as they occur.
  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of the tote software and hardware to assist the site manager in the installation, updates, and testing processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suites, computer hardware, network, tote board technology, point of sale terminal, data center and field service operations.
  • Should have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter with ability to accomplish tasks within reasonable time frames.
  • Ability to apply and maintain any required regulatory license(s)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fast paced environment requiring normal movement around and between geographic facilities. Position requires to be licensed by the proper racing and/or gaming authorities within the region. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, able to work flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some travel may be required as the workloads dictate. Must be punctual and have reliable transportation.

The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to loud as incumbent may be exposed to noises common to offices, data centers, airports, planes, cars, large crowds of people and large facility or general public areas.
