Churchill Downs Racetrack is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Seasonal Associate to support email marketing, website updates, and mobile app integrations throughout the lead-up to the Kentucky Derby, Derby Week, and the Spring Meet.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on digital experience while contributing to one of the world’s most iconic sporting and entertainment events.

Work Schedule
- Feb–Mar: 20–30 hours/week
- April & Derby Week: Up to 40 hours/week
- Mid-May: 20–30 hours/week
Nights and weekends may be required during peak event periods. This role is on-site will require working out of the offices at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Email & CRM Support
- Assist with creating, editing, and testing email content in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Support audience segmentation, content updates, and campaign preparation for the Kentucky Derby and Spring Race Meet communications.
Website & Digital Content Management
- Update and maintain web content on the Churchill Downs & Kentucky Derby WordPress site.
- Publish new pages, edit existing content, and ensure accuracy of event, ticketing, and racing information.
Mobile App & Partner Integrations
- Support digital and partnerships teams on new partner integrations within the Churchill Downs mobile app.
- Assist with content coordination and quality assurance for digital experiences (Storyteller integration pending budget approval).
Digital Project Coordination
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align digital assets and messaging.
- Participate in QA reviews for websites, emails, and app updates to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Support recap reporting or performance summaries as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, especially during Derby Week.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn new tools and processes.
Preferred (not required):
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, another CRM platform, or email builder tools.
- Familiarity with WordPress or another CMS.
