Churchill Downs Racetrack (“CDRT”), the world’s most legendary racetrack, has been the home of The Kentucky Derby, the longest continually held annual sporting event in the United States, since 1875. Located in Louisville, CDRT features a series of themed race days during Derby Week, including the Kentucky Oaks, and conducts Thoroughbred horse racing during three race meets in the Spring, September and Fall. CDRT is located on 175 acres and has a one-mile dirt track, a 7/8-mile turf track, a stabling area, and provides seating for approximately 60,000 guests. JOB SUMMARY

Churchill Downs Racetrack, home of the Kentucky Derby, is seeking a Salesforce Solutions Analyst to support and enhance Salesforce CRM capabilities across Sales, Guest Services, and Marketing. This role will serve as a key partner to business stakeholders, translating operational needs into scalable Salesforce solutions that improve efficiency, guest engagement, and revenue performance.

In addition to supporting Salesforce CRM administration and business analysis, this role will play an active part in coordinating and delivering projects and enhancements, ensuring initiatives are effectively planned, communicated, and executed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and experienced in coordinating work across multiple teams in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with Sales, Guest Services, and Marketing teams to gather business requirements, identify process gaps, and recommend Salesforce-based solutions
  • Configure and maintain Salesforce functionality, including fields, objects, page layouts, flows, validation rules, and reports/dashboards
  • Support day-to-day Salesforce CRM operations, including user access, data quality, and issue resolution
  • Analyze system usage and business processes to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and improved user experience
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to support sales performance, guest engagement, and marketing campaigns
  • Assist in managing integrations between Salesforce and related systems such as ticketing, loyalty programs, and POS platforms
  • Coordinate and support project execution for Salesforce CRM enhancements, marketing initiatives, and racing/event-related efforts
  • Assist in defining project scope, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics in partnership with stakeholders
  • Track and communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery of initiatives
  • Facilitate meetings, gather updates, and follow up on action items across cross-functional teams
  • Support release planning, testing coordination, and deployment activities for new features and system updates
  • Help prioritize and manage incoming requests, enhancements, and defect resolution through established intake processes
  • Document business requirements, system configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Support user training and adoption of new tools and enhancements
  • Collaborate with IT and external vendors as needed to implement system improvements
  • Participate in projects supporting racing events, promotional campaigns, and guest experience initiatives

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certification (e.g., Salesforce Administrator)
  • Experience supporting sales, marketing, or customer service functions
  • Experience in hospitality, entertainment, gaming, or live event environments
  • Familiarity with loyalty systems, ticketing platforms, or marketing automation tools
  • Experience with project or task management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Asana)
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with Salesforce CRM in an administrative, analyst, or support capacity
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce configuration, including reports, dashboards, and basic automation tools (e.g., Flow)
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into system solutions
  • Exposure to project coordination, task tracking, or supporting project delivery
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, particularly during live racing events
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, including peak periods such as the Kentucky Derby
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
