JOB SUMMARY

At TwinSpires, the Product Manager is critical to delivering a quality experience to our players.  You will be responsible for driving the delivery of key product features to enhance our players digital experience on the TwinSpires platform.  This role will be aligned to one or more feature teams and partner with engineering to deliver user stories following an agile process.  You will work with various stakeholders at different levels of the organization to assess business needs, gather requirements, build acceptance criteria, test cases and document processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop expertise in an existing product area (e.g. Handicapping, Wagering, Registration/Login) and establish detailed knowledge of our TwinSpires’ customer base
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers and other stakeholders to assess the market landscape and develop strategic plans to deliver a continuously improving player experience
  • Analyze potential product enhancements and requests to determine the best way to develop and build the best solution in the time available, while setting the expectations for the delivery of new functionality
  • Oversee/manage detailed information gathering/capture from the business teams and functional teams (Design, Marketing, Analytics etc.), preparing the handover of requirements to Scrum teams in the form of Epics and User Stories
  • Partner with the scrum teams to deliver user stories
  • Measure outcome delivered to customers in each sprint against what was expected to be delivered
  • Maintains regular touchpoints with stakeholders of the product
  • Manage the product backlog through an ongoing process of defining, refining and prioritization
  • Drive the Funding, Registration and Login strategy for TwinSpires
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to identity and address the needs of our end-users
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Ability to work full-time in the Louisville TwinSpires office.
  • Travel between Louisville and Lexington, 10% of time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business or 3+ years experience working in Digital eCommerce.
  • Experience acting as a product owner, product manager or comparable role driving feature delivery, preferably related to funding features.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience working with Jira and Confluence
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications
  • Flexible, versatile and able to cope well under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to act both tactically and strategically
  • Show usage of own initiative
  • Passion and/or interest in the Horse racing industry is a huge plus
  • Product Certification would be a plus
