Churchill Downs Racetrack (“CDRT”), the world’s most legendary racetrack, has been the home of The Kentucky Derby, the longest continually held annual sporting event in the United States, since 1875. Located in Louisville, CDRT features a series of themed race days during Derby Week, including the Kentucky Oaks, and conducts Thoroughbred horse racing during three race meets in the Spring, September and Fall. CDRT is located on 175 acres and has a one-mile dirt track, a 7/8-mile turf track, a stabling area, and provides seating for approximately 60,000 guests. JOB SUMMARY

This position will support the Churchill Downs® Racetrack Luxury Sales & Services & Customer Experience Team by supporting the sales, service and experience operations that fulfill the hospitality needs of, and deliver world-class customer services to, our ticket customers leading up to and during event race days.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Assist Luxury Sales & Services Managers and Experience Managers in the facilitation and delivery of event race day customer experiences and service amenities
  • Lead overall day-to-day needs and processes of the Luxury Sales & Services and Customer Experience Team to ensure the team is aligned for success and continues to provide an unsurpassed level of service
  • Assist with all administrative needs of the team including but not limited to various scheduling responsibilities, departmental meeting notes, assisting with special projects, managing staff and vendor credential access needs, and ensuring all proper procedures are followed
  • Lead all aspects of Luxury Team’s purchasing and procurement, serving as the team’s and external vendors’ primary point of contact for service and product orders, responsible for all system processes for contract approvals and vendor payment and timely delivery
  • Support relationships with service and product vendors during event preparation stages by performing information sessions and coordinating operational and logistical details in order for partners to perform and serve luxury ticketholders
  • Support development and completion of impactful customer engagements, including client gifting programs and other various customer touchpoints
  • Assist Luxury Sales & Service Managers and Experience Managers in liaising with internal departments and service suppliers to ensure a seamless hospitality service
  • Assist as needed with race day responsibilities including but not limited to overseeing or managing certain hospitality areas
  • Work alongside other members of the team to enhance the sales, service and customer experience culture, and to support the overall fulfillment of hospitality needs of luxury ticketholders
  • Represent Churchill Downs during site surveys, client events and race events; providing excellent customer service at all times

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in hospitality or a related field
  • Alternatively, equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Weekend and evening work required during live racing meets.  Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Must be able to maneuver around the racetrack and withstand hot/cold conditions.
