JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing plays a key role in developing and executing marketing strategies for Derby City Gaming & Hotel and Derby City Downtown. This position focuses on campaign planning, creative development, marketing process management, and advertising. The Director collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to drive promotions, events, and advertising initiatives while managing budgets and ensuring timely execution of marketing projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign management:
- Assist in developing comprehensive marketing plans, including advertising, database marketing,
promotions, and collateral. - Implement and manage marketing campaigns, ensuring timely execution and stakeholder alignment.
- Develop and oversee omnichannel communication strategies across direct mail, email, social media,
and advertising. - Provide strategic guidance to CRM teams to optimize customer segmentation and engagement.
- Review and approve marketing job exposure, counts, and segmentation strategies.
Creative development:
- Lead the development of creative assets for advertising, direct mail, email, social media, and
property collateral. - Manage relationships with third-party vendors to execute creative projects.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of on-property signage and respond to operational
marketing needs. - Supervise graphic design efforts to ensure brand consistency.
Advertising, partnerships, and sponsorships:
- Develop and execute advertising strategies, including SEO, digital, traditional media, and
out-of-home (OOH) advertising. - Maintain advertising flowcharts and oversee media planning.
- Lead social media strategy and execution.
- Develop and coordinate public relations efforts.
- Oversee website content updates to align with marketing initiatives.
- Manage on-site filming and photography for promotional use.
- Lead partnership and sponsorship strategy, including contract negotiations.
Budget and vendor management:
- Track and manage the marketing budget, ensuring timely payments and financial accuracy in
coordination with the finance team. - Manage purchasing orders and invoices.
- Assist in coordinating on-site events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum five years of experience in the gaming industry, with at least two years in a managerial
or supervisory marketing or player development role preferred.
• Proven ability to manage marketing processes, timelines, and deliverables effectively.
• Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.
