JOB SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for providing the patrons with excellent service in a timely manner and to assist the beverage servers with orders to assure quality guest service and provide patrons with a favorable gaming experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently prepares drinks according to Derby City Gaming recipes and specifications for patrons and fulfills cocktail servers’ orders in a timely manner.
- Responsible for cleanliness of the bar area.
- Assists with inventory control, stocking, and proper rotation of product.
- Responsible for preparing and selling all drinks on the menu and handling all transactions in accordance with cash handling policy.
- Responsible for set up and breakdown of bar area as well as side work and projects as necessary.
- Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of alcohol.
- Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and guests.
- Responsible to perform “responsible alcohol service” with regards to patron limitations and pass any/all responsible alcohol service training.
- Interacts and speaks with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty to occur
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of all bar equipment, cash registers, and the company’s beverage system.
- Maintaining interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high pressure, high volume demands.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Two or more years of experience bartending preferred.
- Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.
