JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) creates and fosters an environment which supports and rewards Team Members for providing an outstanding customer service and hospitality.  Responsible for directing the operation of the property by working with the General Manager on the overall company strategy and policy framework; directs operating departments for successful implementation of business policies, strategies and plans for the property; directs and coordinates property activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations as well as to maximize profits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, mentors, and directs the executive team that possess the aptitude to provide excitement as well as deliver world class service in order to ensure Team Members receive sufficient leadership, guidance, and resources to accomplish established objectives.
  • Provides direction in the operation of HRM gaming, and non-gaming departments to ensure the most efficient and profitable operation while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, quality, and service.
  • Supervise and direct the day-to-day operations through assigned department leaders; counseling, guiding and instructing them in the proper performance of their duties
  • Inspect and review all operations, confer with directors, managers, and supervisors as required to assure efficient utilization of manpower and facilities
  • Control expenses in all departments
  • Develop and maintain Team Member culture, professional development, morale, and engagement
  • Plan, develop and implement revised procedures to improve the efficiency and profitability of operating areas
  • Be aware of competitive operations (internal practices, gaming procedures, promotions) and recommend appropriate action in accordance with a sound marketing plan
  • Responsible for Team Member satisfaction in all departments, working closely with Human Resources and taking corrective action as needed
  • Monitor financial performance of all areas against planned performance, taking action to improve performance where necessary
  • Establish and maintain effective channels of communications upward, downward, and laterally
  • Adheres to company policies and plans as well as establishes management and operating plans consistent with overall operations for each department to ensure achievement of company objectives
  • Participates in the development of strategic plans and policies for the company
  • Exercises a consistent and effective management force and leadership for the achievement of current and longer-term company plans and support of the mission and values of the property
  • Implements new strategic plans in accordance with company policy to develop existing and potential business units to achieve new market and business objectives
  • Responsible for the development of organization, personnel, product/service, and market resources within span of control to facilitate future growth
  • Conducts themselves in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous, and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values
  •    Promotes Responsible Gaming and Title 31 compliance
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the gaming /casino
  • Performs the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of seven years progressive responsible gaming management experience
  • Must have a gregarious personality, optimistic outlook, passionate about the business, proven track record of leading, inspiring, developing, and motivating Team Members as well as a proven track record of success in service excellence, financial and analytical aptitudes, adaptive management style, training advocate, attention to quality details, great communication skills and know how to deliver excitement.
  • Thorough knowledge of general business practices and strategic planning.
  • Broad knowledge of all facets of gaming
  • Obtain required license(s)
