JOB SUMMARY

The Promotions Manager oversees and directs all aspects of gaming promotions and related communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages various marketing initiatives and projects to ensure all promotion activities are executed effectively as planned.
  • Ensures full coordination with internal departments such as Gaming, Food and Beverage, Hotel, Transportation, Warehouse, Security, and external event agencies.
  • Works closely with other executives and managers in planning and carrying out activities and programs to ensure the meeting of objectives and the development new marketing opportunities.
  • Hires, motivates, trains, coaches, mentors, and directs departmental managers that possess the aptitude to provide excitement.
  • Establishes Promotions department standards, guidelines and objectives and maintains other administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas.
  • Monitors and evaluates the player development operation to ensure the proper planning for short and long-term strategies and ongoing improvement.
  • Develops player base and customer loyalty by interacting with guests directly and participating in special events, social functions, promotional activities, etc.
  • Reviews and monitors complimentary offers and reinvestments in players.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and resolves any negative guest experiences.
  • Oversees operation of Player’s Club to include Promotions Counter and VIP Lounge as well as bus program planning, promotions and operations.
  • Sources key external agencies to support promotion program, ensure cost effectiveness and good relationships are established with key supportive agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to manage a team.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of market developments, strategies, and practices.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft applications and other necessary computer applications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years of experience in marketing or player development in a gaming or hospitality environment preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must obtain valid Virginia Racing Commission License.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The Team Member will be required to sit for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The Team Member may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The Team Member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • The Team Member may be exposed to smoke when on the floor of the gaming room.
