JOB SUMMARY
Keeps records of financial transactions with horsemen for Ellis Park.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verifies, allocates and posts details of horsemen's transactions in computer file.
Reconciles and balances horsemen's accounts.
Prepares checks for horsemen and other parties as needed.
Calculates jockey payroll and prepares checks.
Maintains certain records related to purse offerings and distributes.
Prepares Valet pension contribution.
Prepares certain tax forms (ex. form 8300) as needed.
Prepares daily deposits.
Prepares Kentucky Thourghbred Development Fund and Breeder's Cup reports for reimbursement to association by same.
Collects information on form W-9 for proper processing of 1099 form at year end.
Prepares end of live meet closing.
Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
