An Ellis Park Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all meals for Ellis Park patrons, delivering quality meals in a timely and consistent manner, accommodating special requests of guests, and ensuring that food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.

An Ellis Park Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all meals for Ellis Park guests, delivering quality meals in a timely and consistent manner, accommodating special requests of guest, and ensuring that food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.

Some details of what you will do:

• Follow recipes and prepare food orders in a uniform and consistent manner.
• Maintain proper food rotation procedures (e.g. label and date product, properly store and rotate perishables and leftovers).
• Minimize food waste to achieve forecasted food costs.
• Perform general maintenance duties, including mopping floors, wiping countertops and cleaning food prep areas.
• Open and/or close kitchen as necessary.

What you need:

• At least one year of relevant work experience in a restaurant or food capacity.
• Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two or more years’ experience in high volume food service operation/preparation.
