We are a premiere entertainment venue presenting thoroughbred & exotic animal races, slots, video poker and simulcasting year-round. Located in New Orleans, Fair Grounds operates a slot-machine gaming facility and 13 off-track betting parlors throughout southeast Louisiana.
JOB SUMMARY
The Service Clerk position functions as a cook, bartender, cashier III and an admissions clerk. Prepare and cooks meals for customers, sells admission forms and programs, mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons, and responsible for issuing and cashing mutuel vouchers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Admissions Clerk
- Answers telephone, if applicable.
- Accepts payment and makes change for customers.
- Answers questions concerning racing, schedules and reservations and gives information concerning coming attractions.
- Keeps daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets sold.
- Provides outstanding Customer Service at all times while conducting themselves in a manner consistent with the highest ethical and moral standards prevailing in the business community in which we operate
- Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to obtain a Louisiana Racing Commission License.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
