JOB SUMMARY
Weekend availability required.
Position Schedule: Thursdays - Mondays
Must be available to work as late as 11:00pm
Must be available to work holidays.
Dual property position over Turfway Park Racing & Gaming and Newport Racing & Gaming.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate assigned gaming related special events including the planning, organizing, and management of events within the facility to provide the highest degree of quality guest service, both internally and externally.
- Emcee drawings, giveaways, and special events via microphone system to both small and large live audiences.
- Assist in the execution of casino promotions and player development events. Ensure objectives and budgets are being met.
- Direct support staff, contractors, and vendors as necessary to successfully accomplish promotions and special events.
- Coordinate event needs with Food & Beverage, IT, Security, Players Club, and other requested services offered.
- Generate all necessary material requests, check requests, and support material to ensure all invoices are paid promptly.
- Communicate all details of special events to the Director of Marketing.
- Meet with the Food and Beverage and Marketing departments on a regular basis to ensure all special events and promotions are being carried out properly.
- Write and edit copy; proofread marketing materials for accuracy.
- Assist with creating property brochures, newsletters, posters, and website content.
- Schedule and coordinate all marketing signage for the facility including the digital content management system for the TVs/audio, exterior building, and main entrance.
- Provide information and explain Players Club benefits, property amenities, and marketing programs to guests.
- Assist the Director of Marketing with social media content.
- Develop relevant, unique, and engaging content for social media efforts.
- Monitor all social channels for guest feedback and foster dialogue to create interactive relationships with our guests.
- Manage communications on social media sites to ensure Newport Racing & Gaming is shown in the best light possible.
- Develops and builds relationships with guests through excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional guest service.
- Meet with other departments to ensure their marketing needs are met.
- Various administrative responsibilities.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High level of professionalism with the ability to react well under pressure.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and interact with internal departments.
- Understand and represent Newport Racing and Gaming’s image and reputation both at work and at external functions.
- Maintain a professional working relationship among personnel.
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation and able to visit both properties when needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- College degree in Marketing, Business, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in creating and coordinating special events and/or promotions is preferred.
- Minimum of one year gaming experience is preferred.
- Skilled with audio / video equipment preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Player Tracking systems preferred.
- Ability to obtain a valid KHRC license.
