JOB SUMMARY
Join the Security Department at Presque Isle Downs! You’ll help keep our stable area, track, and racing operations safe and secure—controlling access points, supporting jockey room security, patrolling the grounds, issuing permits and citations, and keeping the Winner’s Circle race-ready. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidate is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all Presque Isle Downs’ visitors, employees, and properties related to horse racing. Candidate will ensure that only authorized personnel and horses enter/exit the Stable Gate area. Candidate will provide physical security and a visual presence in the stable area. Candidate will ensure enforcement of track rules and regulations and will issue citations as necessary. Candidate will issue parking permits to authorized individuals and will ensure that parking regulations are followed. Candidate will provide security for Jockey Room personnel and will ensure that only authorized individuals gain access to the Jockey Room quarters. Candidate will maintain organization in the Winner’s Circle and the Paddock area. Candidate will limit access to the track via the Shoot Gate entrance and the South Track Gate entrance. Candidate will perform scheduled foot patrol rounds of the stable area. Candidate will prepare, file, and update appropriate paperwork. Candidate will write incident reports on any/all reportable events. Candidate will request identification from young looking individuals who attempt to enter the track viewing area and will place an appropriate colored wristband on such individuals. Candidate will maintain order among guests on the outside apron and will assist with crowd control. Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Security experience helpful but not required. Candidate must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Candidate must perform job duties in a respectful and polite manner. Candidate must present a neat appearance. Candidate must be able to read and write reports. Candidate must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Candidate must be able to obtain appropriate licensing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma preferred but not required
