JOB SUMMARY
Be part of the action behind the scenes of live racing! This role supports the Racing Secretary and Racing Director by coordinating stall assignments, monitoring horse movement, and maintaining an organized, compliant stable area. You’ll oversee stable operations, create work orders, supervise Stable Laborers, and ensure stalls and common areas are properly maintained—playing a key role in the daily success of the Racing Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidate will assist the Racing Secretary in the allotment of stalls in stable area. Require compliance in the allotment of stalls. Candidate must make sure all trainers maintain his/her common areas. Candidate will create work orders for any repairs that need done. Candidate will monitor the incoming and outgoing of horses in the stable area. Candidate will keep Racing Director and Racing Secretary informed of all circumstances involving the stable area. Coordinate assigning stalls in the receiving and stakes barns on a daily basis. Assign stalls to each horsemen and follow up to make certain stalls are used appropriately. Oversee Stable Laborers, assign tasks, evaluate performance, handle disciplinary action. Candidate must contribute to the racing department team by overseeing and following through with assigned tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Flexible schedule must be able to work split shifts. Candidate must be able to enforce the rules of Racing. Applicant must be able to maintain a level head in intense circumstances. Candidate is required to be able to obtain/maintain a Pennsylvania Racing License.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent. Military or police training is helpful.
