JOB SUMMARY
Join our Racing Department team in an exciting, hands-on role at the heart of the action! This position oversees morning training hours while ensuring a safe, fair, and well-run racetrack. You’ll work closely with riders and horsemen from start to finish of each race, enforce PA Rules of Racing, respond quickly to emergencies, communicate concerns to stewards, and help maintain order on the track—including safely capturing loose horses. This is a fast-paced role for someone who thrives around horses and live racing and wants to make a real impact every day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidate will oversee the morning training hours. Candidate will enforce all rules and regulations. Candidate will assist riders from start to finish of races. Candidate must handle emergencies before, during or after each race. During race, candidate must notify stewards of objections or any problems. Candidate is responsible for maintaining a safe environment on the track. Candidate is responsible to make certain that all track and PA Rules of Racing are followed by riders and horsemen while on the racetrack. Candidate is responsible for capturing loose horses on the racetrack. Candidate will contribute to the Racing Department team by overseeing and accomplishing all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Candidate must have knowledge of PA Rules of Racing and have previous work experience with horses. Candidate must provide their own quarter horse and tack. We provide stall and feed allowance. Candidate is required to be able to obtain/maintain a Pennsylvania Racing License.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent.
