JOB SUMMARY
The Beverage Server is responsible for providing friendly, prompt and courteous beverage service to casino patrons according to established policies and procedures. Performs additional job duties as assigned by Beverage Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verifies guest is of legal age to consume alcohol and ensures all responsible Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC), state and Gaming policies are adhered to while serving alcohol.
- Maintains proper set-up of beverage tray including cash caddy for making change to the customer, matches, beverage napkins, small pad of paper for taking orders, and a pen.
- Possesses a bank of money to give change.
- Orders all alcoholic beverages from the bartender and pays the bartender for the complete order. (Except in the restaurants where drinks are to be rung-up onto the proper dining check prior to getting them from the bartender.) Non-alcohol drinks are to be prepared by the Server or Bartender and rung-up under the proper department category.
- Addresses guests in a cordial and approachable manner with a smile, always.
- Check-ins for all areas in assigned stations to pick-up trash, empty ashtrays, and ask if anyone needs “cocktail service” throughout their scheduled shift.
- Taking requests from customers and asking all other players if they would like service, clean out any ashtrays, pick up all trash and empty beer bottles.
- Maintains high level of alcohol knowledge, types of alcohol and pricing, as well as the "cash and carry," alcohol service method.
- Responsible for collecting payment for each drink or round of drinks when they are ordered.
- Maintains knowledge of all drink and beer items available, the price of each, and how the drink is garnished.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
- Obtain and retain required license(s).
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
- Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Casino or hospitality experience preferred.
- Must be at least eighteen (21) years of age.
- Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours.
- The ability to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License
Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience
