Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming will be a newly constructed facility in a high-traffic area in Calvery City, Kentucky at the intersection of I-69 and I-24. The Property will feature nearly 240 state-of-the-art historical racing machines (“HRMs”), a sports bar and a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering, and food and beverage offerings. The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for leading the successful overall direction, administration, and coordination of all operating activities of Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming including Pre-opening activities, culture creation, staffing, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and the ongoing operations of historical racing machine operations, gaming operations, simulcast operations, sportsbook operations, and entertainment operations.
JOB SUMMARY
The Security & Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Security Department, ensuring the safety and protection of all guests, team members, and company assets. In addition to traditional security functions, this position oversees facilities maintenance operations for the property, including building systems, preventive maintenance, and contractor management experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide protection and safety for guests, team members, and assets.
• Manage OSHA training programs for the property.
• Oversee property emergency and disaster plans.
• Enforce programs to prevent underage access to gaming areas.
• Establish and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
• Assign and delegate duties to Security Shift Supervisors and Facilities Supervisor(s) to ensure operational goals are met.
• Meet with departmental managers as needed to coordinate safety and security efforts.
• Coordinate maintenance operations for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, elevators, and water systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure systems are functioning optimally and eliminate deferred maintenance items.
• Maintain required certificates, documentation, and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (including OSHA).
• Assist with construction and remodeling projects as assigned.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for both security and facilities operations.
• Ensure departments work collaboratively to provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Ensures the warehouse receiver distributes goods and mail within the company, to include truck shipments, UPS, DHL, and FedEx deliveries; all mail distribution; and runner duties for deliveries and Pick-ups as assigned by management.
• Coordinates with Surveillance Management at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel for footage reviews and investigations.
• Develop and enforce department SOPs and operational standards.
• Review staffing levels and approve scheduling to ensure adequate coverage within budget guidelines.
• Ensure the service culture is present in every guest interaction through training, coaching, and accountability.
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members, providing regular coaching and performance feedback.
• Participate in departmental budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support operational and financial performance.
• Monitor departmental expenses and oversee ordering and inventory for operational and security or surveillance supplies.
• Engage regularly with guests to assess satisfaction and promptly address concerns.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations during promotions, events, and peak business periods.
• Analyze operational performance metrics and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
• Ensure the safety and security of team members and guests.
• Adherence to state gaming regulations.
• Be available for on-call response, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Management abilities demonstrated in managing the security department.
• Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local government gaming laws, OSHA, and Health Department regulations.
• Public relations and customer service skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the security department and maintenance of the property.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Three to seven years’ experience in security management and high-volume property operations.
• Three or more years’ supervisory experience in facilities or maintenance operations.
• Trade school education in a critical maintenance area is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
