Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming will be a newly constructed facility in a high-traffic area in Calvery City, Kentucky at the intersection of I-69 and I-24. The Property will feature nearly 240 state-of-the-art historical racing machines (“HRMs”), a sports bar and a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering, and food and beverage offerings. The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for leading the successful overall direction, administration, and coordination of all operating activities of Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming including Pre-opening activities, culture creation, staffing, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and the ongoing operations of historical racing machine operations, gaming operations, simulcast operations, sportsbook operations, and entertainment operations.
JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Technician is responsible for monitoring, directing, and supervising gaming activity to ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. This role safeguards gaming assets, supports team members, and ensures an exceptional guest experience through efficient, safe, and secure gaming operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional guest service, addressing guest relations issues and disputes professionally.
- Ensure the safety and security of team members and guests, and manage programs to prevent and reduce lost-time injuries.
- Ensure all facilities, gaming areas, and equipment are available, clean, and functioning properly.
- Maintain knowledge of current marketing promotions, events, and property initiatives.
- Monitor, direct, and observe gaming action to ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete and submit required reports at the end of each shift for operational efficiency.
- Witness and verify gaming jackpots in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct fund exchanges for guests in emergency situations or as directed by management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gaming laws, regulations, and internal controls related to assigned responsibilities.
- Safeguard and protect all gaming assets.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on gaming machines as needed.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated leadership in directing the gaming shift and supporting team performance.
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with team members and guests.
- Adhere to state gaming regulations and company policies.
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills.
- Accept overall responsibility for the performance and security of gaming operations during assigned shifts.
- Must be able to work an alternate schedule with a minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- 1 year of customer service experience in the gaming industry is preferred.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
