Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming will be a newly constructed facility in a high-traffic area in Calvert City, Kentucky at the intersection of I-69 and I-24. The Property will feature nearly 240 state-of-the-art historical racing machines (“HRMs”), a sports bar and a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering, and food and beverage offerings. The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for leading the successful overall direction, administration, and coordination of all operating activities of Marshall Yards Racing & Gaming including Pre-opening activities, culture creation, staffing, compliance with all regulatory requirements, and the ongoing operations of historical racing machine operations, gaming operations, simulcast operations, sportsbook operations, and entertainment operations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Gaming Supervisor is the highest customer-facing leader on the gaming floor, responsible for all gaming operations during assigned shifts. This hands-on role combines active guest interaction and floor leadership with strategic responsibilities, including SOP development, budgeting, compliance oversight, performance analysis, and staff development. In addition to driving exceptional guest service and safeguarding assets, the Gaming Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of the gaming floor and the property.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all gaming floor operations with a strong hands-on presence, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and evaluation for gaming floor staff, including lead technicians and technicians.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-presented gaming floor and property at all times.
  • Monitor gaming activity to ensure compliance with state laws, regulations, and company policies, promptly addressing violations or suspicious activity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of marketing promotions and events, ensuring the team is informed and engaged.
  • Administer and oversee the gaming system (Ainsworth) and gaming data system (Oasis).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of game moves, maintenance logs, repair records, purchase orders, and requisitions for machine parts and supplies.
  • Review and analyze gaming data and performance reports, recommending and implementing operational or technical changes to improve results.
  • Troubleshoot gaming terminal malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Oversee the scheduling, PTO, timekeeping, and recordkeeping of all gaming floor staff.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of gaming team members.
  • Conduct staff development, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure gaming assets are safeguarded, and all transactions adhere to internal controls.
  • Meet regularly with department leadership to review operational performance, financial data, and project updates.
  • Submit all required shift and operational reports in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the on-duty managerial representative, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
  • Be comfortable working in smoking areas for extended periods of time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Gaming Operations Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•    Demonstrated ability to lead gaming operations both strategically and hands-on.
•    Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve guest concerns quickly and effectively.
•    Knowledge of state gaming laws, regulations, and internal controls.
•    Effective oral and written communication skills.
•    Commitment to maintaining a professional work environment and positive team culture.
•    Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.
•    Must be willing to come in as needed on holidays, weekends, and on call during low staffing situations. 
•    Must be able to work an alternate schedule with a minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Five to seven years’ experience in electronics and maintenance of technical equipment, game machines, with a 4-year degree in related fields or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
