Title:  Track Maintenance Crew

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for maintenance of the racetrack as needed, including the back track and stable areas.
• Will operate maintenance equipment and machinery ensuring adherence to all safety regulations.
• Will inspect and clean all related equipment and report maintenance and safety issues to Track Superintendent.
• Promotes outstanding horsemen relations.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must have a valid driver’s license and must meet the requirements of company Motor Vehicle Record Policy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland Racing Commission required of all Racing Services employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of One (1) years’ experience operating maintenance vehicles.
• Experience with small hand tools preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to lift Fifty (50) pounds and work in all weather, including extreme conditions.
• Must be able and willing to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to walk, sit, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
