JOB SUMMARY

Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino Racetrack only 10 minutes from the beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD! Work with an awesome team while ensuring a good time for our guests. This is a seasonal part-time role at our racetrack! If you possess the desire to work for a great company, then we would love to have you! 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the presiding judges in all areas.
• Monitors horse and driver activities and assesses fines and/or suspensions as necessary for rules violations.
• Communicate to judges and drivers as penalties are levied.
• Controls the post parade and formation of the horses until the race is underway.
• Understands and enforces rules as set by the United States Trotting Association, and reports violations.
• May assist in placing horses if requested by the judges.
• May act as an associate judge if requested by the presiding judge.
• Communicate (both written and verbal) with and promote positive team member and guest relations.
• Maintain professionalism at all times when working with other team members and/or guests.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must hold accredited starter’s license.
• Must have thorough knowledge of all rules of the United States Trotting Association.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Dimploma or Equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to stand / walk and/or sit for extended periods of time without difficulty.
