JOB SUMMARY
Exciting opportunity to work at Ocean Downs Casino only 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches and boardwalk of Ocean City, MD! Have fun in the sun while pursuing an exciting career in the casino industry. Work with an awesome team while ensuring a good time for our guests. This is a full time internship with flexible hours that begins in May and ends in August. We are looking for students who are currently attending college and looking to get into the Marketing field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
- Assists with planning, coordinating, and implementing race-day activities, marketing promotions, and special events.
- Will write scripts, make announcements, and staff information table to promote excitement surrounding events at the track.
- Will lead tours of grounds and coordinate meet and greets with drivers and special guests.
- Responsible for generating a positive and friendly atmosphere with all guests by assisting guests when called upon and generally creating a relationship of goodwill.
- Assist with establishing and managing rules and regulations of all promotions.ease
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
- Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
- Must have proven experience working in a customer-friendly environment.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in customer service, customer facing, or customer relations roles .
Marketing experience a plus
Pursuit of a Marketing Degree (in school) highly desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to sit, walk or stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- This position is part-time. Weekly hours could vary from 20-40 hours, including all live-racing dates.
