JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serves as a leader for employees while fostering teamwork, employee morale, motivation and open communication. 
• Acts as a role model and coaches while developing employees using a consistent, approachable demeanor and clearly articulating expectations. 
• Responsible for hiring, training, supervision, discipline, and evaluation of staff.
• Responsible for oversight of maintenance and repair of all facility mechanical systems.
• Will follow all safety procedures and regulations, and will ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws, and OSHA regulations.
• Works productively in a fast paced environment and effectively communicates with co-workers and upper management, keeping senior management apprised of any problem areas.
• Responds appropriately and immediately to any emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.
• Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Minimum Five (5) Years maintenance and supervisory experience in a corporate or institutional setting, preferably with a Racetrack and/or Gaming background.
• Must possess thorough knowledge of techniques and crafts involved in preventative maintenance and construction.
• Must have experience operating maintenance vehicles.
• Must be proficient in HVAC, carpentry, electrical and plumbing maintenance. Certification preferred.
• Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL Certification preferred.  Must meet the requirements of company Motor Vehicle Record Policy.
• Must be able to lift Fifty (50) pounds and work in all weather, including extreme conditions.
• Must be able and willing to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to walk, sit, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland Racing Commission and the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all gaming establishment employees.
