JOB SUMMARY

 We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Facilities Manager with specialized expertise in HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and Refrigeration systems.

This position is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities for the facility.

You will lead maintenance programs, manage vendor relationships, and implement strategies that ensure operational continuity, safety, and cost-effectiveness across our facilities.

This will include day-to-day cleaning, and deep cleaning of all areas of the facility, repairs, preventive maintenance and in-house projects for facility equipment and structures including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and other maintenance work as required.  

This position is responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance work including ordering materials, maintaining the spare parts inventory, coordinating with other departments and managing contract personnel when utilized.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facilities Manager will oversee the entire maintenance crew, taking care of the facility inside and out.

Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all mechanical systems.

Specific responsibilities include always ensuring adequate staffing levels, interviewing, maintaining documentation and taking disciplinary action if appropriate, and conducting employee performance evaluations. 

This position will manage all documentation for personnel, equipment, and work orders.

Diagnosing complex system failures lead to troubleshooting efforts, and ensure timely, effective repairs.

The position will also help manage department expenses and help assist in the annual preparation of the department budget. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Minimum Five (5) Years maintenance and supervisory experience in a corporate or institutional setting, preferably with a Racetrack and/or Gaming background.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of techniques and crafts involved in preventative maintenance and construction.
  • Must have experience operating maintenance vehicles.
  • Must be proficient in HVAC, carpentry, electrical and plumbing maintenance. Certification preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL Certification preferred.  Must meet the requirements of company Motor Vehicle Record Policy.
  • Must be able to lift Fifty (50) pounds and work in all weather, including extreme conditions.
  • Must be able and willing to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must be able to walk, sit, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time without difficulty.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland Racing Commission and the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all gaming establishment employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Trade School or Associates Degree preferred.  Special training in lieu of degree may be accepted.
